Well-Deserved Second-Degree Murder and Involuntary Manslaughter Charges.

A man who, like the rest of us, is well aware of the massacres that are constantly perpetrated in American Schools by deranged shooters, allowed his 14-year-old son to have unrestrained access and use of a lethal weapon. So, one day the boy decided to take his weapon to school and killed 2 students and 2 teachers and wounded a few more.

This murderous act adds to the total of 416 shootings that have been perpetrated in American schools since Columbine in April of 1999. In that span of time, there have been over 300,000 American children and youngsters that have been exposed to gun violence in their own schools.

And what is the usual response from the part of government officials, law enforcement, and all kinds of citizen associations? To send flowers, prayers and condolences!! And again, another school shooting? More flowers, prayers and condolences!! Frankly, the time already came and went to say F*** your flowers!! F*** your prayers!! And F*** your condolences!!

In the near-total absence of concern from the part of government, some people are beginning to take a proactive stance on the matter. If lawmakers in Congress don’t have the spine to do anything to stop the carnage, those in charge of upholding the law have begun holding the parents of the shooters responsible for their children’s crimes.

In the latest case, Colin Gray, the father of the shooter, has been arrested and charged with four counts of involuntary manslaughter, two counts of second-degree murder and eight counts of cruelty to children. This is the second time that the parents of a killer have been held legally responsible for their children’s crimes.

Earlier this year, Jennifer and James Crumbley, the parents of the 15-year-old boy who in November of 2021 killed four students and injured others in a shooting at Oxford High School in Detroit, Michigan, were sentenced to 10 years in prison for involuntary manslaughter.

Colin Gray should probably get a similar sentence if convicted but, most importantly, this case should be a loud wakeup call to all parents that their children’s murderous use of lethal weapons may result in criminal charges, not only against their children, but against themselves.

Maybe this kind of charges and convictions against irresponsible gun-totting parents who raise mentally-unstable gun-totting children will force the PTAs across the nation to stand loud and firm against the NRA and demand by all means that sensible gun-control legislations be enacted and enforced across the nation.

Only in America.
