The Amoralization of America.

Amoral: having or showing no concern about whether behavior is morally right or wrong.

It used to be that American society tried to hold individuals prominent in the public sphere to standards of behavior that would conform to an agreed-upon set of moral values. That unwritten general understanding used to be particularly applicable to anyone holding any elected or appointed public office, meaning that the nation’s leaders have traditionally been expected to abide by the highest possible moral standards.

This also meant that if ever any public official was found to have violated those moral codes, their peers and the general public, particularly the members of their own political party, would somehow force them to resign or, when the violations bordered on the criminal, would even subject them to criminal prosecution.

That kind of scenarios still takes place in America. Just think of Senator Bob Menendez (D-NJ), who was recently found guilty of bribery, conspiracy, fraud, making false statements and other charges. Unfortunately, Menendez' case is no longer the standard of justice and accountability applicable to ALL American public officials.

Over the past 10 years, large numbers of Americans have shown not to care much about moral values anymore. These days, it seems that those Americans of the Republican persuasion actually deride any example of moral or ethical behavior and are even proud of their outright amoral cynicism.

The timely intervention of the American Judicial System and the general population’s tendency to respect the rule of law are two of the main reasons that the United States still provides one of the more trusted and reliable business environments in the world. This I say in full awareness that corruption is increasingly conspicuous in most circles of the nation’s sociopolitical and economic environment.

But things have changed dramatically over the past 10 years. It used to be that if you were indicted or found guilty of any crime, you would contest it at the nearest court of appeals and you would follow the prescribed procedure. But now, for those millions of MAG-Amorals, if the American judicial system indicts or finds their Führer guilty of any transgressions, it is the system that is wrong, not their Führer. There is no looking from their part into any evidence that may prove that the indictment or the conviction might be perfectly valid and right within the law. Moral values don’t count in their judgement.

Nobody and nothing that might stand against their Führer can ever be right for, as a sheer article of faith, their Führer can never be wrong, as even when he's wrong, he's right. The same goes for the American Democratic System. If the MAG-Amorals’ Führer says he won the 2020 elections, it doesn’t matter to them whether the American Democratic processes and procedures show any factual proof that he didn’t. If their Führer says he won, then he won! Factual or moral factors don’t play any part in their judgement.

And this is how large numbers of Americans have been spiraling down a dangerous, lamentable pit of abject amorality.

We all know that "Amoral" is Donald Trump's middle name: Donald Amoral Trump. Given their pro-authoritarian stance of the past 10 years, can anyone find a valid argument to extract any MAGAmerican from the category of amoral? I cannot find any.
