Sinister Dark Stars Keep Lining Up Against Democracy.

The massive destruction and discontent that prevailed in Europe in the wake of WWI gave rise to the most lethal threat to the Democratic world recorded in history: Fascism. Now, one hundred years later, right-wing, extreme-right-wing, and outright Fascist movements are again gaining the upper hand across the world.
Hungary, India, Poland, France, Germany, all of them are seeing a resurgence of their authoritarian forces and leading the pack is none other than the United States of America. The United States is today the most influential nest of proto-Fascist vipers in the world, as many of those venomous MAGA creatures are already embedded within the American government, implementing with increased efficiency their pro-authoritarian agenda.
All of it while the American pro-Democracy forces are asleep debating ancillary issues like LBTQ rights, anti-Israeli and pro-Palestine discourse, anti-abortion legislation and other important but non-vital, distracting, secondary matters of that sort.
Because of its highly-influential, cultural, economic, and military might, the United States is unwillingly but increasingly becoming the deadliest threat to the Democratic world. This is so because whatever happens in America, whether good or bad, is mimicked to different degrees by the rest of the countries.
When they see that an American president incites the masses to an insurrection against the American Government and then continues to flout whatever rules and regulations may be essential to the well-functioning of a Democracy, they cannot help but wonder what’s going on in America.
And when they watch as the entire Republican Party, some Federal Judges, and even the Supreme Court stand in defense of such corrupt individual, whatever faith and respect the people of those other countries might have felt for American Democratic values may easily crumble thereby sending their ideological beliefs drifting rudderless in search of some other role models.
And it is at that point that able demagogues may step up to the podiums to harangue the masses of their own countries against their own governments and against their own democratic systems. What I mean is that, when the light of Democracy grows dim in America, it grows dim in the rest of the world too.
The United States has had a very successful run since WWII. America is today the mightiest country the world has ever known. But the specters of racism and white supremacism have never been eradicated from its heart and have been left there to fester for decades.
Now, such ideological putrefaction has resurfaced and has empoisoned some of the nation’s most vital organs, namely the House of Representatives and the Supreme Court, not to mention one of the most revered political institutions such as the Grand Old Party used to be.
There have recently been a series of adverse events whose confluence has led the country to the uncertain predicament where it is today. There are some sinister and powerful dark stars aligning against the United States as we know it. The problem at hand is quite complex and no easy solution is in sight.
I guess the best way forward may be to take things in stride and deal with each issue as it comes. For starters, we should vote against as many Republicans as possible in November.
