Whoever Replaces Joe Biden Will Have to Break the Existing Democrat Campaign Molde.

After Joe Biden’s miserable debate performance on June 27, there are serious considerations among top Democrats as to whether he should withdraw from the race. Biden is not yet the official presidential nominee for the Democratic Party. That nomination will formally take place the week of August 19, 2024. So, such considerations are perfectly understandable and they make perfect sense. Even the Editorial Board of the New York Times is asking him to step down (see here).

The essential first step for initiating Biden’s replacement would be for Biden to VOLUNTARILY withdraw his candidacy, which thus far he doesn’t seem willing to do. But if and when he does, the question would be who to choose as replacement. Right now there are only a few major contenders for that purpose, with Vice President Kamala Harris at the top of the list. Another contender might be Governor Gavin Newsom of California, although he has expressed reluctance to throw his hat in the ring.

The thing is, whoever replaces Biden will have to come out swinging and swinging heavily. I mean, assailing Trump constantly with blistering ad hominem attacks. Expose his corrupt personality by whatever means possible, crush him on the January 6th insurrection, bruise him heavily on his criminal conviction, call him loud and clear every time he lies, and expose as much as possible his moral rot. Whoever stands next against Trump will have to take the gloves off.

No more Mr. Niceguys. Tell Trump to his face that he’s a consummated liar, that in refusing to accept electoral defeat he’s a cowardly anti-American disgrace. Attack him personally and professionally and demand that the TV or Cable channel sponsoring the next debate do an instant, live, fact-checking on everything both candidates say and show the evidence onscreen for the audience to see.

There is way too much leniency being granted to that amoral crook Trump. But the stakes are already way too high to keep playing nice. We need to stay within certain boundaries of decency in our political discourse, but that should in no way preclude us from telling the bare truth to his face to that amoral, anti-American disgrace named Trump.

Enough of that Mr. Niceguys nonsense! If ever anyone replaces Joe Biden, that individual will have to take the gloves off and come out swinging heavily, thereby breaking the existing, subdued, Democratic campaign and debate Molde.

Hey Democrats! Don’t you ever let that bully Donald Trump gain the upper hand in any debate ever again! Nothing less than the destiny of American Democracy is at stake.
