A Last, Risky, Hail Mary Move for Biden to Restore America’s Ultra-Shattered Confidence in Him.

I’m utterly disappointed in Joe Biden’s debate performance. I don’t have the smallest of desires to express the tiniest of redeeming comments about him. In my view, his performance was just a couple of very thin notches short of execrable. To watch him perform so poorly for 90 minutes during the debate was basically insulting to anyone who is clearly aware of the gravity of the perilous American sociopolitical situation of the moment. It was perfectly unacceptable.

In consequence, there is a growing consensus that he should withdraw his candidacy from the race, thereby allowing the Democratic Party to select someone else to take his place. Joe Biden is definitely NOT in an enviable predicament today. In my view, there is only one last chance for him to try to restore America’s confidence in his capacity and ability to function as a reliable Commander in Chief for four more years: To have his campaign pay for 15 minutes of airtime simultaneously on all possible TV and Cable Networks and have Biden present LIVE his case to the American people.

A short, sincere, introductory apology would be absolutely necessary, but the main theme of the presentation should be to highlight the difference between his reality-based style of governing as opposed to the well-known delusional, anger-filled, anti-Democracy, anti-Constitutional policy proposals his opponent keeps expressing to the press. The only risk in taking that option is that Biden might easily come up with another ultra-sub-par performance, thereby sinking the hopes of defeating Trump in November even deeper down the MAGA mud.

Joe Biden looked awfully bad on June 27th and that impression doesn’t portend good omens for America. Replacing him is one of the options left for the country, and may end up being the only way to salvage whatever traces of hope there still remain for American Democracy.

I am angry at Joe Biden because, as the situation stands today, he can no longer be trusted as Commander in Chief. He might be able to somewhat restore America’s confidence in him in a live address to the nation, but that could also be a highly risky Hail Mary Move, as we can no longer be sure that he will always step up to the plate.

No doubt I will vote for him in November if he still ends up being the candidate for the Democratic party, but I will do so only because there is no chance in a trillion years that I vote for that morally-degenerate, authoritarian, proto-Fascist demagogue called Donald Trump.

May the Universal forces protect America from her enemies, foreign and domestic, but mostly from the domestic ones.
