Why I Fear that Even a Gavin Newsom Candidacy Might Flop.

The June 27 Presidential debate was the perfect parody of the political situation in America today. Donald Trump, the living incarnation of the Republican Party, was the loud, relatively well-articulated, mendacious, hollow, amoral, arrogant, anti-Democracy, anti-Rule of Law, perverted demagogue who dominated the scene.

His opponent, Joe Biden, the official representative of the Democratic Party, was the hushed, meek, inarticulate, hesitant, irresolute defender of the American Democratic and Judicial Systems.

According to those two stereotypes, people who stand for the destruction of America as we know it are the most adamant and loudest proponents of their perverted cause and people who are supposed to stand in defense of the Democratic Republic of America are the timid, insecure, deferring, unconvinced ninnies.

That is the reason why I fear that almost any Democrat who replaces Joe Biden might not succeed in defeating Trump. I can picture Gavin Newsom, the talented Governor of California, joining the race with a campaign to “unify the country”, meaning, making a series of calls for Republicans to join him in restoring bipartisanship in American politics.

And you know how those MAGA Republicans would react to that? They would laugh in his face and see him as the spineless fool he would look like if he did that. Whoever replaces Biden will have to enter the fight wearing NO gloves and with the sole intention of hurting Trump as badly as possible. And I mean PERSONALLY!

They have to literally point a finger at him and call him a liar and a disgraceful enemy of American Democracy to his face. There is no possible sensible policy debate with Trump. He has NO policies. His platform is primarily revenge, revenge, revenge, tax cuts for the rich and the corporations, undermining as much as possible the US Democratic and Judicial Systems, and appeasing Putin, Orban, Kim Jun-un, and every other dictator and authoritarian leader in the world.

FYI: Those are non-debatable issues. To stand a chance to defeat Trump with a clear, uncontestable margin of popular and Electoral College votes, Newsom, or whoever else might replace Biden, has to be merciless and relentless in their PERSONAL attacks. No sympathy for that amoral crook.

The Supreme Court has now handed Trump an argument to claim immunity for instigating the J6 insurrection, for illegally taking classified documents when he left office, and even for the Hush-Money case for which he has already been convicted. Now he can claim that, as President, he was immune from prosecution for all those criminal acts.

To invalidate such fallacies, the Democratic candidate has to tell him to his face that not even in the most farfetched universe of concepts and ideas can instigating an insurrection against the American Government be considered part of a president’s vow to support and defend the Constitution of the United States. Not in a trillion years.

Whoever stands against Trump in the next debate has to throw any politically-correct speech out the window. To hell with that! Smash that SOB! Crush him! No more Mr. Niceguy! Way too much leniency and consideration has been granted to that enemy of America.

The Democrats have to really go on the offensive before it is too late. Nothing less than the survival of American Democracy is at stake.
