Farewell to the United Stats of America We Once Knew?

This is serious, folks. This is no light-hearted matter. We are in for some deep, consequential changes in the general doctrines that have thus far guided America’s domestic and foreign policies.
Just picture that the president-elect of the United States has been going around saying he cannot rule out the use of military force or economic coercion to make Panama hand back control of the Panama Canal and for Greenland to accept becoming part of the United States (see here) He has even half-jokingly suggested Canada should become our 51st State (see here) Is there anybody still laughing about any of this?
As I have suggested before in these pages, there is an increasing possibility for a realignment of forces at the global scale that results in a tripartite “keep-your-hands-off-my-turf-and-I’ll-keep-mine-off-yours” understanding, meaning a coordinated game of “Risk” where each of the three superpowers, the US, Russia, and China, acquires the land they want in their areas of influence while allowing the other two to do the same in their respective turfs.
But for the US to reach such global entente would require the willful or at least acquiescing consent of Congress, the American press, and the courts, which is why Trump is already preparing the ground on all three fronts.
We are entering an era where open criticism of any government transgressions will gradually disappear from the public discourse, not by force, but by the steady replacement of the voices of dissent with those of conformity and by an increasing acquiescence to it all from the part of the American people.
We are about to witness a coalition of government, news media, and capital not seen ever before in America and if they manage to cement such coalition well there may not be a way for the country to break free from it. Just think about it for a moment, if the American press becomes an organ of government propaganda, say, like FOX News currently is, who will be there to hold the government accountable?
Once the US press is coopted, the US government could soon become a unitary political system quite similar to the one they have in China, where the voice of the politburo, as incarnated in the voice of their “dear leader” Xi, is the law of the land. In America, the equivalent of the politburo will be the most rabid Maga fanatics within the Republican Party and the “dear leader” will be the convicted-criminal-in-chief who was recently reelected.
You think I’m joking? Have you not noticed how all those influential billionaires keep kowtowing to Donald Trump? Have you not noticed how some traditional national news outlets like the Washington Post, The LA Times, ABC News and others have been auto-censoring themselves on behalf of their dear leader? And what about all that powerful social media that is already toeing the authoritarian line? (see here)
Are these signs NOT clear enough for you to envision what is coming? We are about to experience a serious paradigm shift, a deep ideological transformation that may ultimately leave standing but traces of the way America used to be.
From January 20th on, the United States may start a dangerous process of transformation that may send it down the road to autocracy, which in blunt terms means dictatorship.
You still believe I’m joking or exaggerating? Better wake up. For there is a long and heavy, runaway authoritarian freight train coming your way and if you are not ready for it, it is going to run you over like it would run over dumb cows standing in the middle of the railroad tracks.
