An Example, Clear and Loud.

Did you see how the world stood up against the Koran burning day in Florida? Did you read about the way the community in Gainesville, the small city where that event was going to take place, rejected it? Did you read or see how the different world leaders voiced their strong disapproval of it?

That is a clear example of what the Muslim-American community and the rest of the Islamic world should do every time an atrocity is committed in their name. That is exactly what I was talking about in my previous commentary, “Islam in New York”.

That is what we would all like to see and hear: Muslim political, business and religious leaders along with Muslims of all walks of life standing up and in unison saying to the world “We don’t approve of Islamic extremism, we reject Islamic terrorism, Islamic terrorists do not represent us”.

Once again, the western world has extended our Muslim brethren a hand of friendship and once again it has shown that the idea of religious tolerance is not just another couple of words. A good majority of western people actually live by that idea.

Hey Muslim world, stand up. Reclaim the reputation of your religion from the hands of the extremist lunacy that has snatched it away from you. Stand up against Muslim terrorism the way the west and the rest of the world stood up against the burning of your cherished book.

Muslim world: Stand up against Muslim terrorism, loudly and clearly. For if you don't, don't blame the rest of the world for not trusting you.
