A Clear Sign of the Times in America

Black is blue and red is white, or better said, green is gray and yellow is purple, or whatever else you want to call it. That is the present state of affairs in Washington DC as the world sets to witness the Impeachment trial against Donald John Trump, a.k.a. the “President” of the United States.

The sign of the times I am talking about is none other than Alan Dershowitz, the renown American Harvard Professor Emeritus and lawyer who is now going to be part of Donald Trump’s defense team against the articles of Impeachment presented against him by the House of Representatives.

Judge for yourselves. This is what Dershowitz has said before the cable news cameras and to the International press:

1. That he is a Libertarian who voted for Hillary Clinton in 2016, but he is now in Trump’s defense team (please see here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xmf2PodFgi4 and here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uxvclc79jJo
   
   
2. That the presentation he will be making at the Senate hearings is not to defend Donald Trump, but to defend the Constitution of the United States, although his presenteation may turn out to be crucial for Trump's defense strategy (please see here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uxvclc79jJo)

So, what is Dershowitz actually saying that he is and he is doing? a) That he is a Libertarian who voted against Trump in 2016, b) That he is defending the constitution, not Donald Trump, c) But he is in fact acting alongside the Trump defense team to help exonerate Trump and, d) The he would be unhappy if Trump is acquitted.

Does that make any sense to you?

It seems that that other famed Harvard Constitutional Scholar, Laurence Tribe, hit the nail in the head when he said Dershowitz has gone completely wacko (please see here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ADCUGx9wHhE)

So, Alan Dershowitz is turning out to be an exemplary sample of the present times in America, he is a Libertarian, but he sides unconditionally with Trump, he is on Trump’s defense team, but he’s not defending Trump, he’s taking sides with the Republicans, but he says his position is nonpartisan…

Maybe Dershowitz is just embarrassed to acknowledge his embarrassing position defending Trump, or maybe he has just gone wacko, or maybe both. Or maybe he is just a clear sign of the present times in the US.

In other words, black is blue and red is white, or better said, green is gray and yellow is purple, or whatever else you want to call it.
