Hanoi is the capital city of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam. It is home to some 6.5 million people. The main means of transportation here is the motorbike. There are hundreds of thousands if not millions of motorbikes going up and down the streets every day from very early in the morning to very late at night.

There isn’t much nightlife in Hanoi. Aside from a good number of Karaoke bars spread around the city and a few movie theaters scattered here and there, there’s not much entertainment. People just go out for dinner and then go drink beer or tea at the cafes, and that’s about all there is to it.

The situation in the small town of Hoi Anh is similar to the one in Hanoi: There’s not much to do here other than drink beer and eat. But Hoi Anh is a seaside town, so you can always go swimming in the Ocean or go sit at one of the beachside restaurants to have lunch or dinner.

Hoi Anh also has some streets that aren’t overloaded with motorbikes, so you can walk along those streets and enjoy the walk. People in this town are very nice and some of them won’t hesitate to invite you to have a beer with them, but many others are just after your money. I guess that's one of the downsides of visiting towns that many western people like to go to.
