Dear Mr. French:

Your piece is right on the mark on many counts. Thank you for publishing it. However, there is one particular line that rings either highly confused or outright false or hypocritical. You write: “I have friends and family members who vote for Trump, and I love them dearly.”

Excuse me? You are perfectly aware of the level of destruction a 2nd Trumpian presidency would inflict on America, yet you love dearly those who will vote for him so that he may go wreak such havoc on us all from the White House? It doesn’t make any sense.

Just picture Abraham Lincoln saying that the Confederates were the deadliest enemies of the Republic, yet he “loved them dearly.” No way. I am ready to love my MAGA EXfriends again, but only if and when they come back to the Democratic fold. Not a single moment before.

You cannot love anyone whose intentions are to destroy the country you are supposed to love above anything else, the United States of America.

Thank you for your attention.

Salaroche
